I absolutely love sport fishing. Fishing for salmon on the Columbia has been one of my favorite things to do since we moved to Astoria 10 years ago. If you’re not familiar, Buoy 10 is a salmon fishing event on the Columbia River from August to September, when salmon begin migrating into the Columbia from the Pacific Ocean. The salmon run this year was so good that we caught our limit within 3 hours of being on the water! We were able to bring in a combination of Chinook and Coho salmon, some wild and most from hatcheries.
